PAT testing for increased workplace safety

Protecting your workforce and your workplace is as simple as implementing health and safety measures and ensuring that the equipment that they use is as safe as possible. In order to ensure that your workforce is using safe equipment, you need PAT testing as a means of ensuring that the equipment isn’t faulty.

It is your legal requirement to ensure that your workforce remains safe, and failure to comply with rules and regulations could result in legal ramifications against you. With this in mind, you should use our services if your equipment hasn’t been tested or if its past its due date for another test.

Portable appliance testing is a means of periodically testing your appliances to ensure that they are in good working condition and to make sure that they aren’t faulty in any way. As per the Electricity At Work Regulations 1989, a company is legally responsible for ensuring that equipment is in good enough condition for their workers to handle safely to prevent the risk of injury. The Health And Safety At Work Act 1974 also dictates that the employer must ensure the safety of all those working on site by providing trustworthy equipment, just as all employees must use the equipment safely and as intended.

We operate to the IEE Code of Practice for In Service Inspection and Testing of Equipment so that we can provide a fully comprehensive service for our clients. We know that it is our job to ensure that all of our clients’ equipment is safe and we take it very seriously, carrying out all tests using the best possible equipment that is available to us. Testing is fully comprehensive, covering everything from inspection of the plugs to electrical tests to ensure that the equipment is operating optimally and without any faults.

We test every class of equipment to ensure that, whether it’s used for work or recreational purposes, everything is completely safe. All reports are written up clearly and sent either via CD, electronically or through paper copies, and all equipment is clearly labelled following testing.

If you run a business, it is your duty to ensure that your workforce is kept as safe as possible on the job, ensuring that the equipment that they work with and use is not at risk of malfunctioning or otherwise causing injury to them. As we have extensive experience with PAT testing in Cornwall and nationwide, you can be assured that our team are always here to provide you with help whenever and wherever you need it.
